Thursday Inspiration

Just random things I found outside my home which made me inspired the whole day...

A prototype of driftwood candle holder, scored from an import/export shop.  (Thanks to my dear friend, Doris, who brought me there.)  I like the natural shape, form and color, these wood has taken over time.

Mini "Quiapo" plants in the fountain.  Love the play of shapes and the reflection it creates on the water.
Jade plant that I'm trying to grow for Bianca's bathroom.  That explains why I planted it in a Winnie the Pooh tin can (from a Disneyland trip!)...Pooh is like Bianca's favorite character since forever!  Hope she never tires of Pooh!

Morning glory vine by the balcony of Raphael's bedroom.   Never thought I can grow this beautiful vine.  It's been producing flowers non stop.  Sometimes I want to think I do have a green thumb...but maybe not! ;-)  What things inspired you today?  Almost weekend!  Yay!

I would love to hear your thoughts!

The Weekend That Was

Hello dear readers!  How was your weekend?  Mine was all about family.  Last Saturday, I made a gourmet sandwich for my hungry boys, grilled cheesy sausage with pesto dressing.  I think they liked it, because it was a goner in no time!

Yesterday was holiday here because of the local elections.  So we invited grandparents and cousins from both side of the family.  It was a simple merienda of dimsum, noodles and sweet treats (different flavors of hopia).    Food is even more appetizing with the use of my Burmese lacquer lunch box for the siomai and the mini-Chinese lunch box for the hopia!

And this morning was all about my herbs...Harvested some tarragon, Thai basil and oregano.  So everyone has to drink tarragon tea today, and maybe we'll have pasta for dinner!

Have a good week ahead!

I would love to hear your thoughts!

Take A Guess!

Hello dear readers!  I'm sorry to have missed you the past couple of days.   Would have been nice to welcome you with a post  on a Monday.  But I have been busy the past two days.

Can you guess what I'm busy with?  It's another project for our home (never ending!).  And it's making my hubby real happy.  He must be smiling when he reads this post.    Leave a comment and tell me your guess.   I will give away this pretty little plant through a raffle. However, this is only for those living in Metro Manila, Philippines.  I will announce my random pick on Saturday, October 16!

With proper care and attention, this little plant will grow and bloom with flowers like this!

This is really special for me, because I propagated this Water Sagittaria.  I'm not really a green thumb so I'm very proud that I was able to propagate a few, and would like to share them with you.  With a bit of patience, it looks like everything can be learned.  :-) Guess, guess, guess!  What's my project?  Leave your thoughts on the comment box.  This little plant might be at your doorstep this weekend!

Would love to hear your thoughts!

Monday Craving

I always have a hard time starting a blog on Mondays, and today is no exception.  I thought of my "Notes to Self" and realized I have one that thing that has not been ticked for the longest time.  Here's what I'm craving for...

More PLANTS in the house.  Right now, I only have a few indoor plants, which are actually gifts.  The truth is our garden is still much work in progress, so is the indoor landscape.  Here is a couple of plants that I have...
This sturdy looking plant is from my loving mother-in-law.  She gave me two pots of this plant, and so far it has produced two babies already which we have put in a separate pot.

This plant I believe is a good luck plant from Ferdie's colleague at work.  Every so often, it bears berry-like red flowers...really lovely!

This is the plant that I want!  I did a little research and found out it's called Ficus Lyrata or Fiddle Leaf Fig.  Nice, isn't it?  This calls for a trip to Manila Seedling!!!  Here I come!

How about you, what are you craving for this Monday?
