Our new baby... SKY!

Meet the new (actually not so new anymore!)  baby of the family...SKY!  Isn't he adorable?  All white and furry with that cute button nose!     We got him last May as a gift from my Papa.  If you've followed this blog, you would remember that I've posted about Chiqui, the dog that we sometimes borrow from my Papa.  The hubby was not keen on getting a  dog, in spite of the kids' pleading.   But this little pup came to our home on hubby's birthday, so how can he refuse?  And now, guess who's the master?  The Alpha?  It's the hubby!  He even lets SKY kiss and lick him on the face!

A collage of SKY's photos playing in the garden. Cutesy!!!  But he got a dose of scolding from me for chewing on the leaves and destroying some of the plants.

Truly the baby of the family!

Look how big he is now!  Five moths old and growing!  We got him when he was two months old only.  Yup..this is another proof how long I haven't blogged!  The little pup grew faster than my blog posts!  He's getting bigger everyday and we can hardly carry him anymore.

Look at that smile!  :)

Do you think he is a beautiful dog?  We really find him good looking and charming or maybe all mothers find their kids beautiful?  haha!!!  People usually ask if he is a Lab, and we would answer he's mixed.  Papa said he's mixed Lab and husky.  Hubby says he's just plain Aspin (mongrel).  I think he is part Lab part Aspin.  Oh well, it doesn't matter anymore because we've raised him as our special dog, part of our family now.  And the breed doesn't matter anymore.  We're very happy to have SKY in our family!  I think he came in the right time.  The kids are old enough to take the responsibility of taking care of his needs.  That was the condition we made, they will be the primary care taker, not me.  They play with him, walk him around the village, give him a bath  and has trained him the basic tricks like seat, come, fetch, up and lie down.  Sounding like a proud Mama!  haha!!  So there, that's our SKY bebe!  (that's how we call him!)

I would love to hear your thoughts!

The Rainy Weekend.

How was your weekend everyone?  It was a rainy weekend in Manila and we're just thankful that typhoon Falcon has left the country already.  Glad everyone is safe and dry.  Caught up with reading (maybe I'll do the review on a separate post) over the weekend, and played a lot with our house guest CHIQUI!  Yup, she's here with us, and this is the longest stay so far.  We're already falling in love with her.  Have a good week ahead!

I would love to hear your thoughts.

Man's Best Friend

Are you a dog lover?
I'm not!
I do not do "doggie-baby talk."
I don't like touching their body.
I don't like feeling their bones and everything else inside.
I don't like hair on my clothes, nor on my couch, not even on my floor!
I don't like it when they stare at you and bark,
Like you're a runaway thief!
I don't like them licking me
All the more playing pretend bite.
I don't do fetch.
I just don't like anything to do with them!
But for the past 5 days, I became a convert.
(Yes miracles do happen!)

This dog named CHIQUI..
Made me do doggie-baby talk
She's actually talking to me on the photo above!
And one time I even called her Raphael! (my son's name)
Now it doesn't feel yucky anymore to caress her body,
do a bit of massage and even carry her around!
It's been 5 days only since she came
But it feels she's been part of the family ever since
Now we're all gaga over her!
O CHIQUI!  What did you do to me?
I thought it will be short and easy to dog sit
Now I am hooked on you!
There's nothing we can do but return you
To your rightful owner.
Please come and visit more often!

Note:  Chiqui is my sister's pet.  The whole family went out of town and Chiqui was left to our care.  She will be fetched today :-(  If I feel sad, Bianca will be depressed.  Chiqui slept with her every night! :-(  Yikes!  I can already hear her saying "Ma, can we borrow Chiqui?"  or maybe, "Let's get our own Chiqui. Please?  Pretty please?"

It took me this long to understand and experience why dogs are called man's best friend.  Can't argue more!

I would love to hear your thoughts!
